Ideal Valentine’s Day Gift

If you want to get away from the traditional and now very ordinary, flowers-and-a-box-of-chocolates, kind of present on a day that has very special significance for lovers then you are on the right page.

We can tell you pretty much all the things you already know, and if you don’t then you’d better check out our Gift Buying Guide – but if you’re reading this right now what you really need to know is what type of lingerie is going to be right on the day and how you should go about choosing it.

For a start, buying lingerie for Valentine’s is not as original as you might think. As a matter of fact around about Valentine’s Day the web, radio, television and the Press will be full of articles about how men buy for women, on Valentine’s, just the kind of underwear women of a certain kind of moral stance might be seen wearing during their working day at edge-of-town street corners.

So the first two questions you need to start with are: who is the underwear you are going to buy for and why are you buying it?

If the answer to the first question is that you are buying it for you, you really need to stop right here and read our Gift Buying Guide. If you answer that you’re buying it for both of you and it’s the kind of thing you think your partner will appreciate but would not necessarily spend money on herself then you are on the right track and you really need to decide on why you are buying this gift and how much you want to spend.

The right mix of sexy underwear can show a woman that she’s loved, thought about and cherished. It becomes a mutual _expression of intimacy so when you buy something exciting for Valentine’s it represents the next mutual step into the wild side of your relationship.

Within that remit you can now experiment with what you think you both would feel comfortable with. The rule of thumb is that for a wild look you need to think leather, for a sensual, romantic encounter you should choose satin or lace and for a look in between you might even consider a bustier or a basque that combines leather and lace.

Colours need not be limited to black or white either. With even leather these days coming in, in anything from cream-coloured basques to red and blue corsets, limiting yourself to traditional choices means missing out half the fun.

So go ahead. Set yourself a budget, be generous, check out all the choices we have listed on the site, think carefully before you decide, and after you’ve made your selection your biggest worry will be just where to hide the present until Valentine’s Day.
