Lizzie Jagger, the daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, has signed up to join fellow models Twiggy and Erin O'Connor in the next Marks & Spencer womenswear campaign.

The new campaign is being filmed in London, and is being created by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R.

It is in the same vein as previous womenswear campaigns for M&S where Twiggy and O'Connor, along with Noemie Lenoir and Laura Bailey, are shown trying on lots of clothes as they get ready for an event.

The models have been shot recreating the cover of The Beatles' 'Abbey Road' - although the photos were taken in Greenwich rather than in St John's Wood, where the original was shot.

This shows how far M & S the staple icon of Britain’s every High Street has gone to revamp itself. Case in point is the marketing of its underwear range which has drawn fire from the Wonderbra people no less!

Hervé Bailly, Wonderbra's marketing director, said underwear launches designed to appeal to men "demean women".

He singled out Marks & Spencer's Per Una range for using models in underwear posing on London streets as an example of sexist advertising. Mr Bailly said: "That is just attracting men's attention and I think it is terribly wrong and weak.

"It demeans women. I don't think this approach works any more, and I believe that brands will begin to see this."

The turnaround follows Wonderbra's new advertising campaign featuring fully-clothed women, the idea being to show how a good bra enhances their shape while they are dressed.

M & S meanwhile have continued to offer lingerie that’s affordable, sexy and designed by leading designers offering sexy lingerie as large as size 20.
